OVERSIZE / OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

How do you transport your musical instrument or any other oversize bag?

Transport terms and conditions

Transport of oversize bags and musical instruments is subject to special conditions:

  • You must contact us no later than two days before travelling with your equipment.
  • All oversize bags and musical instruments must be placed in proper containers.

OVERSIZE AND OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE

Any baggage exceeding 158 cm (height + length + width) is considered to be oversize.

We ask you to report to the check-in counter two hours before a flight in France or elsewhere in Europe.

OVERSIZE BAGGAGE OPTION
You may transport a bag whose dimensions are greater than 158 cm (height + length + width > 158 cm), as long as they are no greater than 300 cm. The Oversize Baggage Option depends on your itinerary and must be paid for at the airport (€40 in continental France).

At the airport, oversized baggage must be dropped off at the “Oversize baggage” counter. Please contact us if your bag’s dimensions are greater than 300 cm.

OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE OPTION
You may transport a bag weighing more than 23kg as long as it weighs no more than 32 kg. The Overweight Baggage Option depends on your itinerary and must be paid for at the airport (€70 within continental France).

Purchase the Overweight Baggage Option at the airport on the day you leave when you drop off your bag. Please contact us if it weighs more than 32 kg.

CARRY-ON OPTION

Oversized or fragile baggage may be carried on board flights, subject to our prior consent. Please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your flight. Your bag will then be placed on one or more additional seats, which you will have to pay for. The weight per seat must not exceed 46 kg.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

CHECKED
Your musical instrument is considered to be a standard checked bag and is therefore included free of charge in your fare (except for Light fares). However, if you wish to transport other bags or if you exceed the number or dimensions authorised by your fare class, you may buy a Baggage Option online or pay a supplement at the airport.

Musical instruments weighing more than 32 kg or larger than 300 cm (height + length + width), such as cellos and basses, are accepted for travel in the hold, subject to our prior consent. Please contact us no later than 48 hours prior to your flight.

CARRIED ON

Terms and conditions for transporting your musical instrument vary with its dimensions:

  • If its dimensions are less than 115 cm (height + length + width), such as guitars and violins, it is considered a standard carry-on item included in your fare; that means you will be unable to carry on any other item;
  • If its dimensions are greater than 115 cm (height + length + width) you must obtain our prior consent. Please contact us no later than 48 hours prior to your flight. Your instrument will then be placed on one or more additional seats, which you will have to pay for. The weight per seat must not exceed 46 kg.

Keep in mind: Musical instruments must be placed in cases with rounded ends and that are, preferably, rigid.
