These last few years, with six consecutive French Championship titles between 2006 and 2012 as well as two European Champion titles in 2011 and 2012, the women’s football team of Olympique Lyonnais has been thrust into the limelight at national and international levels.

As of today, the OL women’s team is the only French club to have completed the hat-trick of Champions League, French Championships and National Cup.

Thanks to its numerous assets, Lyon is also a really important economic power, ranking as the second French economic pole.

Due to its dynamic and diversified industrial network, the city has one of the strongest GDPs across Europe and a positive trade balance.

Each December 8th, Lyon celebrates the Fête des Lumières (Festival of lights).

This yearly event is a tradition which dates back to the 19th century, drawing today over 4 million visitors.
